Week 19: Perseverance
Theme Verse:
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
— Galatians 6:9 (NIV)
Welcome & Intentional Start
Let’s come into this time with open hearts, asking God to renew our strength.
Opening Prayer:
Father, sometimes we grow tired, discouraged, or uncertain. But You promise that our faithful efforts are not in vain. Refresh us today, and give us the endurance to keep going. Help us to trust Your perfect timing and continue doing good, even when results seem far away. In Jesus' name, amen.
Worship
These songs and Scripture focus on God's faithfulness and our call to press on:
-
“Do It Again” – Elevation Worship
-
“There Was Jesus” – Zach Williams & Dolly Parton
-
Isaiah 40:31 – "But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength..."
Let worship remind you that God is with you through every season.
Scripture Reading
Begin with the theme verse, Galatians 6:9.
Then read Galatians 6:7–10, which reminds us that we reap what we sow—and that the seeds we plant through obedience will bear fruit in time.
Discussion & Reflection
Consider or discuss these questions:
-
What area of your life has required the most perseverance lately?
-
What helps you keep going when you're feeling worn out?
-
How can you encourage someone else to persevere this week?
Prayer Time
Bring your weariness to the Lord and receive His strength.
Prayer Prompts:
-
Ask God to help you keep sowing seeds of goodness, even when it feels hard.
-
Thank Him for His faithfulness and for the harvest He promises.
-
Pray for strength and encouragement for others who are persevering through tough seasons.
Breaking Bread (Optional)
If sharing communion this week:
Let this moment remind you that Jesus persevered all the way to the cross for you. As you partake, ask for the grace to follow His example of endurance and love.
Challenge for the Week
Identify one area where you feel tempted to give up—and commit it to God.
Each day, say:
“Lord, strengthen me to keep doing good.”
Take one faithful step each day in that area, trusting God with the outcome.
Closing Thought
“Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love Him.”
— James 1:12
May your spirit be refreshed and your heart strengthened to keep sowing, trusting that God will bring the harvest in His perfect time.
