Week 15: God’s Promises
Theme Verse:
“The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness.”
— 2 Peter 3:9 (NIV)
Welcome & Intentional Start
Let’s come into this time with hearts ready to rest in the faithfulness of God.
Opening Prayer:
Faithful Father, thank You for Your promises, which never fail. Remind us today of Your perfect timing and Your trustworthy Word. Strengthen our faith where we are waiting, and help us cling to what You have spoken. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Worship
Reflect on God's faithfulness with these worship songs and Scripture:
-

Let worship build your confidence in God's unchanging Word.
Scripture Reading
Begin with the theme verse, 2 Peter 3:9.
To better understand the context, read 2 Peter 3:3–13, where Peter speaks of God's patience, His promises, and the coming fulfillment of His Word.
Discussion & Reflection
Reflect or discuss:
-
What promise from God are you holding onto right now?
-
Why is it sometimes hard to wait on God's timing?
-
How has God proven Himself faithful in your past?
Prayer Time
Bring your heart before God and trust Him anew.
Prayer Prompts:
-
Thank God for specific promises He has fulfilled in your life.
-
Ask for patience and faith while waiting on His timing.
-
Pray for others who are waiting on God’s promises to be fulfilled.
Breaking Bread (Optional)
If sharing communion this week:
As you take the bread and cup, remember that Jesus is the ultimate fulfillment of God's promises. Let this moment remind you that if He kept that promise, He will surely keep the rest.
Challenge for the Week
Write down three promises of God from Scripture and read them each day.
Repeat this declaration daily:
“God always keeps His promises.”
Closing Thought
“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful.”
— Hebrews 10:23
May your heart be anchored in the sure and steady promises of our faithful God.
